Radio Controlled Model Aircraft Club
Lancaster, California
The Antelope Valley Tailwinds is a non-profit, radio
controlled model aircraft club with more than 100 active members.
It enjoys charter #114 and is classified as a Gold Leader Club
by the Academy
of Model Aeronautics
. We have been in the Antelope Valley for almost fifty
years and have been a chartered club since 1972. Our club’s main
purpose is to foster the advancement of radio controlled aircraft
modeling. We offer assistance and guidance to anyone interested
in the hobby, promoting safety during the construction and operation
of model aircraft. We are based in the city of Lancaster, California,
where we maintain our airpark facilities for the use and enjoyment of
our members and their guests.
If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and see us fly.
Better yet, fly with us. Come and experience the excitement of
flying a model aircraft with one of our instructors. Nothing can
describe the excitement of that first flight, when a wonderful flying
machine rises into the sky with you in the controls! If like us, you
also want to continue experiencing this thrill, join our club and
be part of our hobby. Even if you know absolutely nothing about the
RC model aircraft sport, we have a formal training program for our
members which will help you get started and take you all the way to
flying on your own, at no additional cost.
